As part of my course work for Game Tools Development (taught by Artem Kavalovs of Naughty Dog) I implemented the Shader Pipeline within Prime Engine (along with my teammate Rohit Ravishankar) for D3D9.

My main tasks within this project was to create the Node Editor Tool within Maya, using Maya's cmds module. I was also responsible for parsing the node graph and generating the pixel shaders and the Material definition files for Prime Engine.
Working on this subject gave me some incite into the workings of cmds and creating a working tool set for Maya.
